​​Powerful impacts of climate change are seen locally, right here in Madison via changing weather patterns, increased flooding, downed trees knocking out power and extreme weather events (even a tornado!). Greenhouse gas emissions from human activities — such as landfills and use of fossil fuels — are what's driving climate change. It can seem overwhelming, but together we can, and must, take the necessary steps to reduce the pollution and ecological destruction that's causing climate change. Here are the most impactful ways you can take climate action, and the progress we made in 2020.
